GameKeepr - About & FAQ
What is GameKeepr?
GameKeepr is a free social platform where you can track your game library, write detailed reviews, create lists, keep a gaming diary, play quiz mini-games, and connect with other gamers. All game data is sourced from IGDB (Internet Game Database), powered by the community and maintained by Twitch.
Is GameKeepr free?
Yes! GameKeepr is completely free. All core features — library tracking, reviews, lists, diary, quiz, social features, and Steam import — are available at no cost. We also offer an optional Supporter subscription for users who want exclusive cosmetics and want to support development.
What if I can't find a game?
If a game is missing, it probably hasn't been added to IGDB yet. You can contribute by adding it directly on IGDB.com — once it's there, it will automatically sync to GameKeepr within hours.
How do I sign up for GameKeepr?
You can sign in with one click using your Google or Steam account. On your first login, a short onboarding flow will greet you: you choose a unique username and optionally set your display name. That is it! You can customize your avatar, cover image, favorite genres, and other details from your settings page anytime.
What languages does GameKeepr support?
GameKeepr supports multiple languages including Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Dutch, and Polish. You can switch your language preference at any time using the language switcher button in the top right corner. All interface text, notifications, and system messages are displayed in your chosen language. Game data (names, descriptions, etc.) is sourced from IGDB, so most of it is presented in English.
What are the library statuses?
You can organize your games with 6 status flags: Playing, Completed, Backlog, Wishlist, Dropped, and Played. Some statuses are mutually exclusive — for example, marking a game as Wishlist automatically removes Playing, Completed, Dropped, Backlog, and Played. Playing conflicts with Dropped, Backlog, and Wishlist. There's also a Favorite toggle to mark games you love. Your library syncs with the diary calendar and activity feed automatically.
How does the rating system work?
GameKeepr uses a 0–100 scale for ratings, giving you fine-grained control over your scores. When you review a game, you can also select the platform you played on, set the difficulty level, mark your review as containing spoilers, and attach photos. Community averages are calculated from all ratings.
What can I do with reviews?
When writing a review, you can give a 0–100 rating, write detailed text, mark it as a spoiler, select the platform you played on, choose the difficulty level, attach multiple images, and log your play time. Other users can like, comment on, or quote your reviews.
What are Lists and how do they work?
Lists let you create curated game collections. There are three list types: Standard List (free-form collection), Ranked List (numbered ranking — like 'Top 10 RPGs'), and Tier List (organized into customizable color-coded tiers like S/A/B/C/D). You can add a title and description to each list. Lists can be kept private or shared publicly. Other users can like, comment on, quote, or remix your list to create their own version.
What is the Game Diary?
The Game Diary is a calendar-based tracking system that lets you log what you played each day. Open the Game Activity dialog from any game page to see a monthly calendar — click a date, choose a status (Played, Completed, Dropped, or Backlog for future dates), and optionally add play sessions with hours and notes. You can also set your total hours played, and all logged days and hours are tracked with a stats summary. Your diary data syncs with your library automatically.
Can I import my Steam library?
Yes! Connect your Steam account and import your entire game library with a single click. GameKeepr automatically matches your Steam games with IGDB entries, preserves playtime data, and imports play session history. There's a 6-hour cooldown between imports to prevent overload.
What's on a game page?
Each game page contains comprehensive information: IGDB and GameKeepr community scores, genres, platforms, themes, game modes, screenshots, artworks, trailers, game characters, DLCs and expansions, release timeline, related games, and external links. You can also read community reviews, write your own review, and add the game to your library.
How do profile statistics work?
Your profile page features detailed statistics automatically calculated from your library: most played genres, platform distribution, favorite developers and publishers, game mode preferences, your scoring profile (average, median, highest/lowest score), golden year (the year you played the most games), franchise loyalty, backlog health, and total playtime analysis. This data is visible to anyone who visits your profile.
What is the Favorite Games list?
Favorite Games is a special list on your profile where you rank your personal favorite games. You can add up to 100 ranks, drag-and-drop to reorder, and update your list at any time. Everyone who visits your profile can see this list.
How does the search system work?
GameKeepr uses a powerful search engine that delivers instant results. You can search for games, posts, and users. Game search supports filtering by genre, platform, release year range, and community score. Post search includes filters for time range, posts with images, and popularity.
What's in the Quiz section?
The Quiz section features various mini-game modes waiting for you. From guessing games based on cover art, screenshots, and artworks to character matching and chronological ordering, you can test your gaming knowledge in a variety of ways and have fun.
How do the social features work?
GameKeepr has a full social feed — you can create posts (with multi-image support), reply, like, and quote other posts, reviews, or lists. You can follow users, use @mentions, add #hashtags, and your profile shows an activity feed of your gaming updates. You can also participate in community polls.
What is the Connect page?
The Connect page helps you discover other gamers. You'll see suggested users based on your gaming interests, and you can send follow requests to users with private profiles or directly follow public profiles.
How do I report inappropriate content?
You can use the 'Report' option from the three-dot menu next to any post, review, or comment. You can select a report reason such as spam, harassment, inappropriate content, or impersonation. Reports are reviewed by the admin team and appropriate action is taken.
Can I change my profile visibility?
Yes. In the Privacy section of Settings, you can switch your profile to 'Followers Only' mode. In this mode, your profile remains visible but details like your posts, game library, and reviews are only accessible to your followers. Anyone who wants to follow you must send a request first.
What social links can I add to my profile?
You can add up to 6 social links: Twitter/X, Instagram, Twitch, YouTube, Discord, and a personal website. These appear on your profile for visitors to see.
How do badges work?
Badges are earned automatically as you use the platform. There are multiple categories: Library badges (for adding games to your collection), Review badges (for writing reviews), Streak badges (for daily activity), Veteran badges (for membership milestones), and Supporter badges (for subscribers). You can display unlimited badges on your profile. Site-wide (on posts and comments), you can show 1 regular badge + supporter badge + special badges.
How do I set up profile frames and badge display?
In Settings, you can choose which badges to showcase on your profile. Profile badges are unlimited — you can display all the badges you've earned. Supporter subscribers also receive a profile frame (avatar border): Silver gets metallic silver, Gold gets a glowing gold, and Diamond gets an animated sky-blue frame.
How do notifications work?
You'll receive notifications for likes, replies, new followers, follow requests, @mentions, quotes, list remixes, badge achievements, and admin announcements. You can customize exactly which notification types you want to receive individually in your Settings.
Can I export my data?
Yes. In Settings, you can request a full data export. GameKeepr will generate a ZIP file containing all your data — library, reviews, lists, posts, and account information. Exports are available for 24 hours and can be requested once every 7 days.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. At the bottom of the Settings page, you'll find the option to permanently delete your account. Account deletion is irreversible — all your data (library, reviews, lists, posts, followers) will be permanently removed. We recommend exporting your data before deletion.
How does the Supporter subscription work?
GameKeepr offers three supporter tiers: Silver, Gold, and Diamond. Each tier earns a unique badge and profile frame. Higher tiers additionally offer priority support, early access to new features, and an ad-free experience. All core features remain free — subscriptions are for cosmetics and extra perks only. Visit the Support Us page for details.
What is the ad policy?
GameKeepr shows limited, non-intrusive ads to free users. Ads are placed only in specific page sections and are positioned to not disrupt the user experience. Supporter subscribers (Silver, Gold, and Diamond tiers) enjoy a completely ad-free experience.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet, but we're planning to release a mobile app in the near future! In the meantime, the website is fully optimized for mobile browsers — you can use it just like an app.
What should I do if I find a bug or have a suggestion?
You can reach out to us via the email addresses on our Contact page for bug reports and suggestions. Community feedback plays a major role in developing the platform — every piece of feedback is evaluated.
How can I export my lists as text or image?
On any list detail page, click the share/export button in the top-right corner. Two options are available: Copy as text (copies your list in plain text format to clipboard) and Save as image (downloads your list as a PNG file with cover art). For tier lists, tier colors and rankings are also included in the image export.
Who can use the list export feature?
The list export feature is exclusively available to Silver, Gold, and Diamond tier supporters. Free users cannot access this feature. You can subscribe to unlock list exports. Eligible supporters can export both their own lists and any public lists.
How does the image export work?
The image export automatically converts your list into a PNG file with game cover art. For regular lists, games are displayed in a grid with their covers. For tier lists, each tier is arranged with its own color alongside the cover art. The generated image is automatically downloaded to your device.
How do I link my Discord account to GameKeepr?
Go to the Account tab in Settings and click 'Link Discord'. You'll be redirected to Discord for authorization — once approved, your account is automatically linked. You can unlink it anytime from the same page.
Do I get an automatic Discord role when I link my account?
Yes! When you link your Discord account, if you have an active supporter subscription, the corresponding roles (Silver, Gold, or Diamond) are automatically assigned on our Discord server. Similarly, when your tier is changed from the admin panel or your subscription is updated, your Discord roles are synced automatically.
What is the 'Keeprs' role on the Discord server?
Every member who joins the GameKeepr Discord server automatically receives the 'Keeprs' role. This role identifies you as a community member and grants access to server channels.
Do I get a 'Boosters' role if I Nitro Boost?
Yes! If you Nitro Boost the GameKeepr Discord server, you automatically receive the 'Boosters' role. When you stop boosting, the role is automatically removed.
What does the "Add to Library" button do?
It lets you add a game directly to your library without assigning any status (Playing, Completed, etc.). Use it when you want to save a game but aren't ready to categorize it yet.
What is the "Archive" tab on my profile?
It shows games you've added via the "Add to Library" button that haven't been assigned a status yet (Playing, Backlog, Completed, etc.). Think of it like your Steam library — your games are safely stored here.
If I remove all statuses from an archived game, will it be deleted?
No. Archived games are persistent, just like games imported from Steam. Even if you remove all status labels, the game stays in your library.
What happens if the same game is both imported from Steam and manually added?
The same game won't be counted twice. It's kept as a single entry and can appear in both the Steam and Archive tabs.
