In the 4th year of Meiji (1871), Yukikaze, a fox monster, was honing his swordsmanship while serving the new government. There, he hears a rumor about Haruka, a wolf from the Tohoku region. Haruka is said to be invincible in the Kanto region, and Yukikaze burns with rage. Finally, unable to bear the fire of jealousy, he sets off on a journey to defeat Haruka. In the mountain village of Ou, the country where Haruka resides, he is unaware that winter is just around the corner.
